Applications of Vacuum Casting
Vacuum casting is one of the most cost-effective methods for producing high-quality, low-volume plastic parts similar to injection moulded components. These parts are ideal for form, fit, and function testing during design stages, marketing, field user testing, and product design verification.
Various urethane casting resins are commercially available to meet diverse design requirements including temperature resistance, surface textures, hardness, and transparency (from fully opaque to completely transparent). The process can also create high-quality wax masters for investment casting to enhance intricate features.

Polyurethane Sealant Characteristics
Advantages: Excellent abrasion resistance; low-temperature flexibility; adjustable performance range; good mechanical strength and adhesion; excellent elasticity and restorative properties; 15-20 year service life; good oil resistance; biological aging resistance; moderate price.
Limitations: Not suitable for long-term heat exposure; light-colored formulations may UV degrade; storage stability affected by packaging; slower curing; potential for bubbles/cracks in high heat; often requires primer; poor water resistance (especially to alkaline water).
