Product Description

Flange bolt is composed of hexagonal head and flange, its "support area and stress area word ratio" is greater than ordinary bolts, so this bolt can withstand higher preload, anti-loose performance is also better, making it widely used in automotive engines, heavy machinery and other products.

The flange bolt consists of two parts: a hexagon head with integrated flange (the gasket under the hexagon is fixed as one piece) and a screw (a cylinder with external threads). It requires combination with a nut to fasten parts connecting two through holes, making this a detachable connection.

Material Specifications
Aluminum Excellent thermal and electrical conductivity but naturally soft. May produce gelatinous buildup after processing and requires proper operation to avoid cutting difficulties.
Titanium EDM machining is well suited for titanium as the process can withstand the viscosity of this alloy. Requires deionized water as a medium to control heat during processing.
Steel Very strong metal. Many manufacturers use wire cutting machines instead of CNC machines for machining complex steel features. Requires heat management during processing.
Brass High tensile strength and easy to machine, but requires slow cutting speed due to being a soft metal.
Feature Advantages

Ordinary bolt heads are very thick and difficult to deform. If vibration occurs, they may need re-tightening. Flange bolts have a thinner part that can slightly deform, allowing for more secure locking.

Flange bolts are particularly useful in special applications where ordinary bolts cannot be used with tools due to space constraints. The integrated flange plate provides additional fastening capability while maintaining a compact profile similar to hexagonal bolts.

Medium carbon steel (C: 0.25% < C ≤ 0.6%) is available in various grades including sedum steel and semi-killed steel. May contain small amounts of manganese (0.70% ~ 1.20%). Offers good hot working and cutting performance but has poorer welding characteristics.
